sound on sound - great new and used records + cds. always good records, especially when it comes to hardcore/punk
and diy hardcore finds. always some 3 dollar record that is rare as fuck somewhere in that store.

Hoa Hoa - holy shit the best tofu dishes in aTx. get sesamie tofu, crispy tofu in chili sauace or garlic tofu.

chuys - really good cheap tex mex. the refried beans are really good and veg, but the queso has chicken stalk in it.
a cheap meal is getting tons of tortillas, beans, rice, grated cheese and some jalapeno ranch sauce. shit is tight.

monkey wrench books - awesome radical book store with awesome books, zines, and bumper stickers (heh).

alamo draft house - there are a couple alamo draft houses but they are fun, they always show crazy cool
movies and you can eat food while you watch. since there are so many locations just go to www.drafthouse.com for info.
emo's - this place is an all ages punk/whatever club and sometimes good stuff goes on. check out www.emosaustin.com

spider house - a nice local coffee shop with tons of wacky 30 year old hippies who talk about their dumb theories,
college students on laptops (this place has wireless internet and outlets for the laptops etc)
or 16 year old scenester kids. you can choose who you are though. this place is nice if you want to just sit down
and chill with friends.
